Coffee area tables are back

Two tables have now been reinstalled at the rear of the store to allow customers to enjoy a drink and a snack indoors. On days when the sun is shining, customers may prefer to sit outside on the decking if it is open or at the picnic tables on the field. The choice is yours! We hope this will work well as the autumn and winter progresses. The situation will be kept under review as maximising the safety of those working in and visiting the store remains paramount.

Roll call for cake makers

If you enjoy the occasional session of Bake Off in your kitchen at home and would like an outlet for your cakes, we are always looking for people to join the store’s cake-making rota. If you can help out, please let anyone working in the store know or call Lucy Muncey on 01256 389338. Thank you!

It may only be November but Christmas IS coming!

Garry and his “elves” have been planning for the festive season for months, with many products already in stock. There is a selection of advent calendars, plus everything you will need to make your own Christmas puddings, cakes and pies. If you prefer bought ones, they will be available throughout the coming weeks (and don’t forget mince pies are perfect for freezing!). Premium English sparkling wine from The Grange, a very local product, has been newly added to our shelves and would make a perfect present or indulgent treat. Mulled wine is now in stock too and do remember to look out for our wine deals during the run-up to Christmas. Summerdown, who grow the mint for their luxury chocolates at nearby Malshanger, also offer a complementary range of home and beauty products. See a selection in the store for even more delicious gift ideas.

A wider choice of magazines

You may have noticed the appearance of a new rack to display a wider choice of weekly and monthly magazines and comics. We hope you enjoy having more of your favourite titles available in the store. Yet another benefit of shopping locally and reducing your fuel usage!

This year’s meeting will be held on Wednesday 17 November at 7pm in Preston Candover Village Hall. It is open to everyone although only shareholders are allowed to vote. Please come along to hear about how the store has been performing during the last financial year.
