Saturday 27 March – Interruption of electricity supply and possible disruption

On Saturday 27 March electricity pole replacement work is taking place in Preston Candover. The Candover Valley Store and post office will be open as usual, but some disruption is anticipated to normal operations.

A generator will be connected up before the store opens at 8.30am. The store and post office will then operate as normal until mid-morning when the switch from generator to new electricity pole is made. During this period, when there will be no power, the store and post office will close. This closure may last for an hour.

Once power has been restored the store will reopen. The post office closes at 12.30pm.

Newspapers: customers wishing to purchase newspapers during the power outage may do so at the front of the store if they have coupons or cash (only).

No other purchases will be possible in the short period while the power is off and the store closed.
